Winners will be announced on her blog on Tuesday!

For my first project today I used the Hello Kitty Greetings, and Martha Stewart's Seasonal Cake Art Cricut cartridges, my Gypsy, Expression, black, white, red & purple cardstock and my pink stickles.
First I used the Gypsy to weld the two Hello Kity Graduation Kitty's together and cut them out of black cardstock their height was a little over 4".  Next, I cut all the other pieces out.  I cut an extra Kitty out of white cardstock to put inside my card to add a greeting later. For the Graduation cap I used the Martha Stewart Seasonal Cake Art cartridge cut at 2" and placed a small pop dot on it. Stickles on the nose.
Here is a picture of the inside of the card.
A picture of the outside of the card.

For my next project I used Disney's Best of Pixar Cricut cartridge.  I took a clear plastic frame and cut a mat out and placed it inside the frame.  Next I cut Nemo at 3". I also cut the bubbles out of vellum & made a treasure chest.  I stuck it down to the frame with glue dots.  I made this frame for my son so when we go to see the newly remodled aquarium at the zoo.  I am really excited to see the all new aquarium!  We so love the zoo!!

I decided the treasure chest was too much so I took it off.

My Cricut Craftroom Theme Day Thursday-- Forever Young Cricut Cartridge

Happy Thursday!  Today is Theme Day Thursday at My Cricut Craftroom! I know that I usually post on Scrapbook Friday's but today's Theme I couldn't pass up!  It is one of my favorite cartridges: Forever Young!

Today I created a purse that I am going to put candy in.  I used the Forever Young Cricut cartridge, patterned cardstock, stickles and a pre-made flower.
I cut the purse at fit to page which ended up being 4" on my Expression.  I then cut the inside pieces out of yellow cardstock and glued them to the inside.  Next I taped the box together and added my stickles to the sun glasses.  I added velcro to the flap on the purse and on the outside I glued a pre-made flower that I won.

I really do love this cartridge and use it quite a lot.  Usually I use the "Girl" images so today I thought I would make a purse.  Here is a picure of my finished project:

My Cricut Craftroom-- Scrapbook Friday!!

It's...... Scrapbook Friday at My Cricut Craft Room!  Today I made an Easter cut for my scrapbook page!
A few years back my daughter got a pair of bunny ears at Easter time.  We took a picture of everyone including our dog with the ears.   So I made a scrapbook page for that picture... Do you think I could find the picture when I was done with the page?  Not a chance!! So disappointed!!  I do love how the page turned out though!!
I used Paper Pups for the "dog in rabbit ears" and the "Yappy Easter".  I used Mickey & Friends to cut the grass.  I had to cut it 4 times to fit on the bottom of the page.  I used sticker Easter eggs hidden in the grass.
Don't forget to stop by http://mycricutcraftroom.blogspot.com to see the other great scrapbook pages today!!  Thanks for visiting!!!                ~Christina~

How I got into Cricut!!

I would love to win the Cricut Circle Cartridge Sophie! So here is how I got into using the Cricut! Please scroll down to the end of my post to see how you could have a chance to win the Sophie cartridge!

I have to say that I really am so happy that I have my Cricut machines!  I have to start at the beginning of my crafting so please bear with me!!

My mother encouraged me to start scrapbooking when my two oldest children were little.  I told her that I really didn't have time with the kids being so close in age.  She told me that I needed to make time, that they would grow up so fast and this way I could go back in time and remember all the fun things we did.

Of course my mother won and we started crafting/scrapbooking together!  We would make our own paper piecings by hand!

Then I discovered the Cricut on a commercial.... Had to have it!  It was the first machine that Cricut had made.  I had only used it a few times, couldn't quite get the hang of it... So I didn't use it for awhile.

Then the Expression came out... I thought, boy I would really love to get one that was my favorite color green and could cut larger things!! My husband said, you have the little one already and don't need another one!! I looked up a few videos that explained how to use the Cricut and I loved the fact that the Expression had a screen so I could see what I was cutting!!  I had gotten some money for my birthday and decided to get it.

So glad I did!!  I absolutely love the Expression!! I have made so many things with it! I still have my little bug.  Told my husband I would sell it but can't quite seem to part with it!!  Now that I have gotten better with using my Cricut I have been able to use my little bug too!!

I  would love to hear your stories on how you got started with the Cricut!!
Make sure to blog your story and up load it to My Cricut Craft Room's blog for a chance to win a Cricut Circle Cartridge exclusive  Sophie! here is the link:    http://mycricutcraftroom.blogspot.com/2012/03/how-did-you-get-into-cricut.html

Friday March 23-My Cricut Craft Room Scrapbook Friday--Kids

Today is Scrapbook Friday at My Cricut Craft Room.  Most of you know that today is my favorite day to post!! I love to make scrapbook pages!!  Today's theme is a good one for me to get more pages made for my children.. My son, who is 4, went fishing for the first time with his dad and sister. So this page is for those pictures.

I used the Play Time, and Pooh and Friends Cricut cartridges.  I also used blue vellum, blue, brown, yellow, green, and orange cardstock.  I also used some stickles and my Peachy Keen stamps.
I cut the boy <Billy> out of the Play Time cartridge at 4", and the Sun at 3" from Pooh & Friends.
I tore the "hill" out of brown cardstock, and the "water" out of blue vellum and added stickles to the vellum.  I added stickles to the fish.

Scrappy EMT Design Team: Altered project

PhotobucketHi!! I decided today that I would not use my cricut for this project.  Although I LOVE my Cricut machine I wanted to use some things I had around my scrapbook room.  I started with this pink heart box:
It is a really cute box, I  just want to be able to use it again.

I used some papers from DCWV Then Crafty Stack, wire ribbon, and a flower that I had in my crafting supplies, & brown stamping craft ink.  I covered the box, used the wire ribbon around it.  Some of the paper didn't cover a little of the box so I used the craft ink to go around thoses edges.  Stuck the flower on top!  I didn't have brown paint to use inside the box, so I will get some and paint the inside of the box.  Stop by http://scrappyemt.blogspot.com to see more altered projects.  Thanks for stopping by!

Scrappy EMT Design team project **Beauty**

PhotobucketToday I created an 8 x 8 scrapbook page for my Daughter.  She loves to get pedicures and manicures!

I used the Sentimentals, Elegant Edges, & Forever Young Cricut cartridges for this page...
For the hand I used the Sentimental cartridge  cut at 4", for the nail polish I used the Forever Young cartridge cut at 3", and for the background I used the Elegant Edges cartridge <swirl2> cut at 6".
I also used a rub on "beauty", and ooh la la is a stamp I used. I added stickles to the fingers for polish, and the middle of the flower.

Close up of the hand and polish

My Cricut Craft Room-- Theme Day Thursday--Tags,Bags,Boxes & More 2

****FOR MY GUEST DESIGNER POST FOR CRAFTY & GREEN PLEASE SCROLL DOWN****

Hi!! I was very excited when I got this cartridge!! I haven't been able to craft with it much yet because I have been cleaning and rearranging my craft room!  I do plan on making a great box with this cartridge soon!  Today I used the tag feature to put on my BFF's Birthday present.  Her Birthday is in May, but I am trying to make something special for her.  It is taking a little time to do it..  This tag is on the last page of TBB&M 2.  She love butterflies so this was perfect!

I used the DCWV giltter Sweet stack, purple cardstock, crystal & lavender stickers, and some fibers from my stash.  I cut the first cut twice.  Once with the patterned cardstock and one with the purple cardstock.  I did that because I wanted the extra butterfly to add to my tag.  I added crystal & lavender stickles to make it pop.  Thanks for stopping by to take a look!  Please visit the other design team members posts for other great projects  http://mycricutcraftroom.blogspot.com !!                                                ~Christina~

I cut the Mickey from page 28 at 5". The bow icon from page 42 at 3". The word "Minnie" from page 38 at 3".

Thursday February 16--Theme Day: Formal Occasions Cricut cartridge

Happy Thursday everyone!

Today is Theme Day Thursday at My Cricut Craft Room.  I decided to use the Formal Occasions cartridge for my project.  I also used Martha Stewart Seasonal Cake art cricut cartridge, a bottle of soap, navy, white, & orange vinyl, and some ribbon.

I have really liked using this idea to make gifts for my friends!  You can do almost anything you want with it!

I cut the flower out of the Formal Occasions cartridge at 2",  the "love" out of the Martha Stewart Seasonal Cake art cartridge at 1".  Then I tied on the ribbon.  Thanks for taking a look at my project! Don't forget to visit the other Design Team members projects at http://mycricutcraftroom.blogspot.com .

Sweets for the Sweets

Sweets for The Sweets Scrappy Emt. Design team post for today!

For today's project I used Cindy Loo cricut cartridge, new blue fuzzy socks, a circle punch, red cardstock,  & red fibers.  I made a "cup cake".
I didn't have any cartridges that would make a cupcake wrapper so I used the popcorn box from the Cindy Loo cartridge I cut it at fit to page.  Then I rolled the socks and used little clear rubber bands around the top and bottom to hold them together.  I used my circle cutter to cut a red circle then glued fibers to it to look like a cherry.  Thanks for stopping by! Make sure to visit the other Design Team members projects!  http://scrappyemt.blogspot.com

Love is in the Air Blog hop day 2

Welcome to the Love is in the Air Blog Hop day 2! You should have just come from Kimi and Pamela 's blog http://lovebugcreations3.blogspot.com/. If you are just joining the hop and wish to start from the beginning, please visit Lisa's blog http://honeybearzdesigns2011.blogspot.com/

The complete blog hop lineup is at the bottom of this post.
...
Each blogger participating in this hop is featuring a project having to do with Valentine's Day or Love. This super-fun hop will be showcasing cards, layouts and projects that feature anything and everything to do with LOVE since that is what Valentine's Day is all about right!! You'll find an array of ideas throughout this hop. From decorations to gift ideas and more, we hope you'll enjoy each and every project along the way!! Be sure to leave a comment at each hop stop to show all the participants a little love.

This is a two-day blog hop. Today is day 2!

I really like to make gifts, but I want them to be functional. So around the Holiday's I saw an idea on either Facebook or the Cricut message board.  I can't remeber which one. I tried to find the person who had this idea but could not. So if you posted a similar idea using a winter/Christmas theme please leave me your web address so I can give credit where credit was due!  I loved the idea and thought it would be cute for any season for a little gift!

I purchased the soap bottles at Sam's.  I cut the lips & the word "smack" from the Indie Art cartridge on my gypsy with navy vinyl.  I used the Cake Basics cricut cartridge to cut the heart border out of white vinyl.  I used some ribbon with wire for the top.  I really like how it turned out!

Thanks for stopping back today to see my project!!  Hope you like and and can use the idea yourself with your own spin on it!!
