My Cricut Craft Room Scrapbook Friday Sept. 28th--Fall Recipes

                       


Welcome to my blog!  It is Scrapbook Friday at http://mycricutcraftroom.blogspot.com

I have a lot of recipes that I use in the fall.  The one that is our family's favorite is popcorn balls!

My husband's grandma has made popcorn balls for years and we have carried on the tradition! Using her recipe of course!  It just isn't fall if we haven't made popcorn balls at least twice! (usually it is more than that!)

I used my gypsy and Printing Press Cricut Cartridge.  I searched and searched for a picture of the popcorn balls that we make every year.. I couldn't believe that I didn't have a single one!! So my page does not have a picture, but I am going to fix that this year! I'm going to make sure that we have one! I think that I might even try to make my kids their own cook books with our favorite family recipes!

I cut "popcorn balls" wording from printing press.  I added our original recipe too. I will have to make a nicer looking copy of it!  I left room for a picture which I will add later.

We love brownies at our house so I decided that I wanted to make mini brownie "cupcakes"
here is the picture of the indredients:

This is something that is "homemade" with ingredients you might have on hand.  I used a brownie mix following the directions on it.  I also use my secret ingredient " 2 Tablespoons of Hershey's syrup (or any store brand chocolate syrup) added to the brownie mix.
Next I grease the mini cupcake tin and fill them about 3/4 full.  Bake them at 325 for about 7 minutes, check them and then about 3-5 more minutes depending on how fast your oven cooks.
I cool them on a rack with waxed paper:

After they cool I use a piping bag with a tip (if you don't have this you can use a ziplock bagie and cut the corner off)  swirl on the frosting and add my sprinkles.

My kids LOVE these!!

My Cricut Craft Room Scrapbook Friday Sept. 21st-- Cute Critters

 

 

 

Welcome back to another Scrapbook Friday!  I love these days!!  I am trying so hard to get my 3 kids' scrapbooks up to date!!  So today I decided to scrap Halloween 2008... I know I know it is 2012.  I am WAY behind!

I used Hello Kitty Greetings, Doodle Charms, and 3 Birds on Parade Cricut Cartridges for today's scrapbook page.  I love Halloween!  I created the spider from Doodle Charms and my Gypsy.  I used the Hide feature to hide the mouth and eyes so I could add google eyes and a stickles smile.  Now my other two cuts I used were from a swap that I was in. They did not have the name of the person who created them or I would post that.  The Bat is from Hello Kitty Greetings and the Dracula Bird is from 3 Birds on Parade.  Both are super cute!!

If you are new to my blog I love simple layouts! I'm not saying that I wouldn't make something fancy or WOW! I just like to make sure I can add lots of pictures to my pages.

Creative Kuts Design Team Post Sunday Sept. 16th

I love fall!! We have so many fall Birthday’s in our family and I have a lot of friends at work with fall Birthday’s! So today I created a gift card/money holder type of card.

I started with the Scarecrow-Hershey-Candy Wrapper. I thought if you could wrap a candy bar around it why couldn’t you make it into a card... I added a “pocket” inside to hold the gift. I really love how it turned out! Might have to use this with other wrapper holders!

My Cricut Craft Room Scrapbook Friday Sept. 14--use 4 photo's in a layout

Woo Hoo it's Friday again!!  The theme this week that I used was to use 4 photo's in a layout.  Well I used more than 4.  I have a really difficult time using a small number of pictures in a layout.  Please note that these pictures were taken before I had my digital camera! They were taken 10 years ago! I can't believe how fast time goes by! 

I use the Celebrations Cricut Cartridge for these Birthday pages for my Daughter.

My Cricut Craft Room--Scrapbook Friday Sept.7--Interactive scrapbook page

                                    

Happy Friday!  It is scrapbook Friday at My Cricut Craft Room and today's theme is an interactive scrapbook page.

I chose the Simply Charmed, and Celebrate with Flourish and Chic & Scary Cricut cartridges to use on my page today.

We love to go to Vala's Pumpkin Patch!  I have been taking my children to the pumpkin patch about every year since my oldest was little.  It doesn't seem like fall until we have gone there! 

So today I created an interactive page for all my pumpkin patch pictures.  On the lower left hand side of the page I made an accordian fold out for more pictures.  I like using this style so I can fit a lot of pictures on one page.

I cut the pumpkin from Simply Charmed, the Scare Crow from Celebrate with Flourish, and the Saying from Chic & Scary.  I really love the back ground paper!!

Sunday Sept. 2nd--My Cricut Craft Room 100 Cricut Cartridge Blog Hop--Day 2

100 Cricut Cartridge Blog Hop Day Two

I chose Toy Story, 3 D Lanterns, Chick & Scary, and Movable Monsters for my projects today!

For my first project I made a quick card for my Nephew using the Toy Story Cricut Cartridge.  He was having a cowboy birthday and I thought this would work great!  He is only 3 so I made a little card with Woody (which is his favorite character).

The next project I made was for a friend's Birthday.  I love to make homemade gifts.  I used the Movable Monsters Cricut Craft Room Exclusive along with the CCR to create this gift.  I also used a small pail, round styrofoam ball, fun sized candy, low temp glue gun, and a popsicle stick.
I glued the styrofoam ball to the inside of the pail.  Next I glued the candy around it.  Created my scarecrow and stuck him to the popsicle stick and placed it in the styro ball. 

 

 

For my last project I used Chick & Scary, 3 D Lanterns Cricut Craft Room Exclusive, and my Gypsy to create a spooky lantern.  First I chose the lantern, hid all the cuts I didn't want, then welded a spider to it.  I created a second side hiding all the cuts so 2 sides had a spider and 2 sides were plain.  I used the spiders from the cut to "climb" the side of the lantern.  I also used some webbing.  I found a great battery operated candle which turned green, orange, and purple.  I really love this project and will use it for my desk at work....

This card was super fun to make.  It is a new style that I tried.  A side step card using a circle!

I made the scarecrow's arms adjustable with brads, stickles on the pumpkin, and rub on's for the saying.  I like how this one turned out and I will have to use this style of card again!!

My Cricut Craft Room Scrapbook Friday August 24--Use a Lite Cartridge

Another week here and gone!   This week went by so quickly!!  School started for my children this week.  I had my first day at home with no one around!  It was so quiet!

Today at My Cricut Craft Room we were to use a Cricut Lite Cartridge for our scrapbook page.

I chose Celebrate With Flourish.  This cartridge is so versatile!  I chose the Sunny Days saying along with a cute butterfly and stickles! 
I decided to make one more summer page since summer is winding down.

Expect lots of fall/Halloween thing from me in the next month!

I love Halloween & Fall! It is my favorite time of the year!

My Cricut Craft Room Scrapbook Friday Aug.17th- Mini Album

Hello crafting friends!!  I was very excited about today's theme--Create a Mini Album.
I have been wanting to create a board book for sometime! I felt very intimidated at first!
I have to say that using the Cricut Craft Room to make this was wonderful!! It was easier than I thought it would be.  I did have a little problem with the weld feature and  my crafty friends helped me out!

I used Elegant Edges, and Create a Critter Cricut Cartridges, and the CCR today.

First I chose the design of my book with Elegant Edges.   Then I chose the animals I wanted to use.  I used the shadow features welded to my design so the animals were the book.  I made sure to keep my length the same for the book, but made the pages wider.   I used chipboard, black paper for the front of the book and white on the inside.  I also cut out decorative pages with the Elegant Edges cartridge.  I did not bind it yet, I need some smaller jump rings and did not have them on hand.  I cut out the layers to the animals and glued them on.  I like to use Elmer's rubber cement to adhere the cardstock to the chipboard.  (my mom used this all the time when she scrapbooked, she hooked me on it!)

I used a rub on for the cover and monkey rub on's too. 
I loved making this!  I will make more for sure, I'm thinking about a Halloween Theme next!!  Here is a picture of my finished book:

Creative Kuts Design Team Post-- FALL!!

I am loving our theme this month!! Fall is my favorite time of the year!!  I just love the leaves changing color, the air cooling down, pumpkins and the smell of fresh baked bread.  These are the things that remind me of Fall!  Today I am trying a new style of card (new for me). I tend to stick with a regular fold card.  My card today is a side step card.  I started with the digi file Pumpkin Scarecrow.

My Cricut Craft Room Scrapbook Friday August 10th--Dance Layout

It is Friday again!  I am enjoying a little cooler weather and I hope this will be the trend for awhile!

This week I chose the Dance Layout theme for my scrapbook page.

I used the Formal Occasion Cricut Cartridge.  This page will be for my Son's prom.  I love some of the "frame" cuts that are on this cartridge!  He chose a grey Tux and she had a light purple dress.  I try to keep his layouts simple. He doesn't appreciate a lot of bling or fancy pages.  I also used  a little ribbon at the bottom it is hard to see in the picture but the paper is light blue with very fine white pinstripes in it. I did have to add a little bling on it:
